Piano Lesson at my home studio
My experience teaching piano at various music schools has allowed me to refine my approach to one-on-one lessons. While I appreciate the diverse learning environments each school provided, I've carefully selected the elements I find most effective for creating an optimal learning experience. These insights have informed the design of my personal studio.
Bechstein A124 Acoustic Piano
To provide my students with the best possible foundation, I've chosen to use an acoustic piano for our lessons. Acoustic pianos offer a superior tactile experience, allowing students to develop refined technique and touch. Additionally, I've selected a European piano to expose them to the rich, traditional sound that European instruments are renowned for.
Online Lesson/Recording Setup
To provide my students with additional learning and performance opportunities, I've equipped my studio with a professional recording setup. This allows them to capture their progress, experiment with different interpretations, and even create recordings for sharing or archiving.
Sound Reducing Door
Due to space constraints, I wasn't able to completely soundproof my studio. However, I've prioritized sound reduction to minimize distractions and create a focused learning atmosphere. I've installed sound-absorbing materials and taken other measures to ensure that external noise doesn't interfere with your lessons.
Dyson air purifier
Understanding the importance of air quality in enclosed spaces, I've purchased an air purifier in my studio. This helps maintain a healthier environment for both students and myself, reducing concerns about airborne germs and allergens
Beyond the core elements of my studio, I've paid careful attention to details like lighting and air conditioning. I've chosen quality lighting fixtures from Verde Lights to provide optimal illumination, and strategically placed the air conditioner to ensure comfortable and even cooling throughout the space.

My piano studio is conveniently located in Canberra, a short 5-minute walk from the Canberra MRT station.
